Mineral spirits or a high volume alcohol. Wear rubber gloves! You might also try nail polish remover if you have it available as it contains a lot of alcohol.

Correction: nail polish remover contains ACETONE, unless you buy the kind that is acetone-free. Acetone is more likely to remove the finish from anything that is applied to.

Do you know what the spots are on your siding? For a basic clean that is not oil based, use blue dawn dishsoap with baking soda, make a paste with it and let it set for a few minutes on the siding, then scrub off with a scrubbie sponge or a microfiber cloth, rinse well. If oil based, then I would consider WD 40, but expect a cleanup for the WD 40.

I used kerosene to remove oily residue left on my homes' vinyl siding when messy concrete installers our cement and if got on the siding.

  • Apply the solution to the discoloration after mixing equal volumes white vinegar and water. Place baking soda on top of the stain and leave it for a few minutes. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the stain off, and then rinse the area with warm water.

Hi Mitchell, hope this helps you. To remove WD-40 from vinyl siding, the safest and most effective method is to simply use a mixture of mild dish soap and warm water; spray the solution onto the affected area, scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
