Air will oxidize the sink for you over time!
I would try a simple solutin of equal amounts of vinegar and water. Rinse and then see if you need to repeat this process.

Crazy as this sounds but you can clean the sink with a cheap Ketchup and salt. I used that on my copper bottom pots years ago and it still works.
