I tried cleaner from the hardware store but it hasn't removed a rust stain on quartz. The quartz is white. Does anyone have advice on how to clean quartz countertops and how to remove rust a rust stain from quartz countertops?

Barkeepers Friend is my favorite, but you may as well seal the quartz once it is clean. White quartz will continue to get dirty and stained if it is not completely sealed. ☺️

I Googled it. It says to use soft scrub with bleach. Squirt some on your stain with a little bit of water to make a paste, spread it around on your Stain on your countertop and leave it sit for about an hour then just wipe it off with a paper towel

"cleaner from hardware store" really does not narrow it down much for us. Barkeeper's Friend will do the job for you. They sell it at the hardware store.

Mix baking soda and lemon juice into a paste. Apply to stain let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes. Wipe clean. Repeat if there is still a shadow of the stain.

Glad Barkeepers friend worked for you.

  • Bar Keeper’s Friend would be my first choice, maybe something like Bon Ami, if they still make it (did I date myself?).

  • Baking soda will chemically absorb the rust stain, leaving your quartz countertops safe and clean. Step 1: Mix equal parts baking soda with equal parts water until it has a paste-like consistency. Step 2: Apply the baking soda paste to the affected area and let sit for 10-15 minutes.

Removing a rust stain from a quartz countertop requires care to avoid damaging the surface. Quartz is durable but can be sensitive to harsh chemicals, so here are some safe and effective methods:

    1. Baking Soda & Water Paste (Gentle Method)

    1. Mix baking soda with a small amount of water to form a thick paste.
    2. Apply the paste to the rust stain and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
    3. Gently scrub the area with a soft cloth or sponge (avoid abrasive pads).
    4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and wipe dry.

    2. Hydrogen Peroxide & Baking Soda (For Tougher Stains)

    1. Mix hydrogen peroxide with baking soda to create a thick paste.
    2. Apply the paste to the rust stain and let it sit for 15–20 minutes.
    3. Gently scrub with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge.
    4. Rinse well and wipe dry.
