My favorite is ammonia with warm water and a rag an an old toothbrush,and rubber gloves,eye protection too.1/2 cup to 3-4 quarts warm water in a clean bucket.change water when it gets dirty.

Warm water and white vinegar is a good mixture to clean just about anything. Test a small area in an inconspicuous spot to be sure it's working safely on your cabinet material. Regardless of what they are made of this is a very safe cleaning solution. Good luck!

I use Windex to clean just about everything. Finger prints, micro wave, inside and outside kitchen cupboards, the stove top, kitchen counters I also spray it on most of my knick knacks and then wipe them off with a dry cloth. Great for the salt and pepper shakers too. For the shower I love Spic n Span. My Mom used it on everything in the house including cleaning the walls when she did the spring cleaning.

It depends what the cabinets are. If they are wood, I would use Murphy's soap. If they are laminate, I would think you could use 409 or just about any cleaning agent..

When you clean cabinets you are cleaning the finish. And the finish protects your cabinets.   So you want to take care of the finish on your cabinets.  Especially if they are newer.  For newer.cabinets and little dish soap and rinsing them, and dry them.  You don't want the wood damaged.  If they are greasy use a degreaser, rinsing keeps them from becoming dull and drying.  For really dirty and greasy cabinets we use a major commercial degreaser.  Especially if the cabinets have years of grease build up on them.  But even when we clean these cabinets we are careful with the finish.  Products like bleach, ammonia, vinegar will etch the finish and dull the finish before it starts damaging the wood.  We use simple cleaners like dish soap or mean green, or a degreaser sheich we rinse off so the the residue doesn't dull your finish with build up.  We don't use furniture polish or any lemon oils or wood soaps they dull your finish and leave build up.

I would use my dishcloth with soapy water and wipe them down and then dry them with a microfiber cloth (or other). Lemon essential oil in water is one that I plan to try. I have wood cabinets and so far they have cleaned up well.

I use a product called Greased Lightening or Windex Multi Surface. Both are grease cutters and then wipe them off. particularly good on the cupboards above the stove. Hope that helps. Others I use something like Murphys Oil soap to remove surface dirt. Edited to correct counters to cupboards...duh!

Since we don't what your kitchen cabinets are made of, here is a couple of options:  Murphy Oil Soap is a product recommend for wood, and if they were resurfaced, they recommend Windex. If the cabinets are painted or metal then you can use our that are ammonia base or a degreaser.

I don't know how bad the cabinets are but, when I painted my ancient kitchen and cleaned up the cabinets I found the best grease cutter, yet easiest on me, was Simple Green used exactly as directed. No residue, no foul odors, just a nice clean surface.

Mix a 50/50 solution of vinegar and warm water and pour it into a spray bottle. Mist on cabinets, let sit for a minute or two and then wipe clean with a soft cloth. Add a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent to the vinegar and water solution to clean extremely grimy cabinets.

Hi Lisbeth, hope this helps you. To clean kitchen cabinets with Dawn and vinegar, you can mix equal parts of each in a spray bottle, shake, and spray onto the cabinets. You can also add a few drops of dishwashing detergent to the mixture for very grimy cabinets.

Test on a small area: Before scrubbing the entire cabinet, test the solution on a small, inconspicuous corner.
Use a soft sponge: Use a soft, non-scratching sponge to scrub the cabinets.
Follow the grain: If the cabinets are made of wood, follow the grain when scrubbing.
Use a toothbrush: For crevices and grooves, use a soft bristle toothbrush dipped in the cleaning solution.
Dry immediately: Use a clean, damp paper towel to wipe away any excess soap or water to prevent water spots.

While vinegar can be effective at cleaning greasy cabinets, acidic cleaners like vinegar can damage wood cabinets. Just don't let it sit on cabinets too long
