What could be a reason that there is no cold water in the sink?
Hey everyone, I am trying to figure out why my sink faucet only has hot water - no cold water is coming out! Has anyone else had this issue before? I'm not quite sure what could be causing it. Could it be a blockage in the pipes, a faulty valve, or something else entirely? And if it's just one sink that's affected, how do I know if it's a localized issue or if it's affecting other fixtures in my home as well?

Call in a Plumber! Has it happened sudenly or over time? Turn off the water and investigate?
Have you checked the supply line? Is it possibly kinked? If not, it could be a damaged valve. I'd call a plumber.
Hi Danielle, first make sure that there are actually TWO supply lines so you know for certain there is a hot and a cold coming in. I had a similar problem with one of my shower faucets, the valve inside the faucet stopped opening to let in hot water. I ended up having to replace the faucet.
Yes, get a plumber.
Depending on your plumbing, do you have galvanized pipes or Pex pipes. Galvanized can clog from hard water. I would call a plumber you many need a pipe replaced.
Are any other sinks affected. Check the bathroom sink faucet, laundry sink faucet. If it's only that sink then it's more likely the cartridge in the faucet. If you have the installation instructions check those on how to change the cartridge. Or if you know the brand of faucet you can Google/Bing how to replace the cartridge.
Hi Danielle, hope this helps you out. This type of faucet usually puts out cold water when you move the lever towards you then turn it on, warm is in the middle and hot wat is moving the lever to wards the back splash. You want to check and make sure there are two water lines hooked up by looking under your counter.
Check the Al e under the sink and make sure it’s on
I would guess it's a pipe issue. I had that problem and sediments had settled on the cold side.
Check the water valve. Is it closed? If that’s not it, and depending on how handy you are, you can check the main valve outside. Check if its turned off. If not then call a plumber m.
Hi Danielle! The most likely cause of no cold water coming out of your faucet—especially if the blockage was preceded by a steady decrease in water pressure—is a build-up of lime scale, created by mineral deposits from hard water.
It was a hard water issue causing the problem, but all is fixed and I have cold water coming out of the faucet again. Thanks for the replies
Call in a Plumber! If you have no experience - that will be the best idea!
