Getting rid of spiders

Would appreciate advice on how to keep spiders away while sleeping?

Any kind of hair spray.  Brake Parts Cleaner from an auto parts store freezes them immediately.   They do have to be stomped on, but the you know they are really dead. LOL

If inside, i'd use the foggers, set up per instructions , usually 2 per floor of house, cover all food , dishes etc and wash all counters  and surfaces afterwards to remove chemical residue.

Spiders hate citronella oil.Just soak an old sock with it and pop over an old mop, duster or broom and wipe around affected areas. I do this inside and out..It lasts a couple of months

Peppermint oil.  They hate it.  I use essential oil and put it in a spray bottle with water and poof they disappear.  I spray my basement walls with it and all the corners.  Find those creepy places they like to hang out.  One word of caution as well as this works do not use it around cats.  It is lethal.  Their kidneys can not process it and eventually shuts their kidneys down. There is noway to cure it either once it is digested.  Since cats have a tendency to roll in it and clean themselves frequently it just is not worth the chance. This is not true for dogs.

Peppermint essential oil with water in a spray bottle, spray corners everywhere, also soak cotton balls with the oil and place in dark spaces and corners of closets and each room, I even put them inside of my basement bathroom vanity

Horse chestnuts or conkers give off an acid which spiders really don't like. Place in corners, behind stuff and they will leave.

It works to deter  dogs and cats ,just dab some around where you don't want them scratching or digging, it works with my dogs. It also deters mozzies etc. However just use sparingly in places where your cat can reach, as anything can cause harm in high quantanties but this is  better than using chemicals.

Mix mint oil or buy some and put in food processor, put it in a spray bottle with water and spray everywhere in corners, doors, windows.  Apparently they smell with their feet and they do not like the smell of it.  Honest, read it on here!

Fill a spray bottle 3/4 full water, add about 1/4 c Dawn (the blue kind) and about 15 drops of peppermint oil. Spray around baseboards and windows. I spray once a year, in fall.

Honestly, you don't.  You can keep them away from certain areas for a while but they will always come back - and you don't want to get rid of them!  They keep the insect population under control - flies, mosquitoes, even cockroaches (ewww).  Unless it's a species with venom strong enough to cause harm (like a Black Widow or a Brown Recluse), the worst they can do to you is give you a little itchy spot for a few days.  I do worse than that to myself washing dishes! lol

I’ve heard Vicks Vapor Rub works! Bugs hate it according to what I have read. I haven’t tried it yet tho.

Hi Glenn! You can try these steps:

Keep your home clean and free from clutter.
Seal any gaps and cracks around your home.
Remove spider webs whenever you spot them.
Remove spiders on sight with spider catchers.
Be mindful of what you bring into your house.
Use natural spider repellents in your home.

hello glenn, i see you have a spider issue, my way of solving this is to let them be, i have a colony of spiders living around my house, they come in and out and take food as they please, i have a couple of black widows that chill around as i watch my shows, they are quite nice, they provide a nice sleeping buddy and good late night snack! cheers mate from the uk😀🇬🇧

Hi Glenn! Before use, mix peppermint with some water and spray it all over your room, especially in areas insects like spiders are likely to hide out. You may also consider combining the peppermint with detergents while washing your bedding. Lavender, rose, eucalyptus, tea tree, and lemon essential oils also repel spiders.

Hi Glenn, hope this helps. I feel for you, I have woken up covered in spider bites in some hotels/cabins in the mountains.

Peppermint oil: Mix a few drops of peppermint oil with water in a spray bottle and spritz it around your bedroom. You can also soak peppermint tea bags in the corners of your bedroom.
Tea tree oil: Mix tea tree oil with water to create a natural spider deterrent.
Horse chestnuts: Place a few horse chestnuts in each corner of your bedroom.
Cedar wood: Add cedar wood to your home.
Vicks VapoRub: Rub Vicks on your chest, in the corners of your room, under your bed, and around your windows and doors.
