DIY Solar Light Idea's Using Items Mostly From Dollar Tree
I thought I would see what I could come up using solar lights and items that I found mostly at Dollar Tree.
So I picked up some solar lights at dollar tree and looked to see what else I could find.
First up, a glass candlestick. I simply took the solar light off of the stake and used a rubber band to wrap around the bottom of the light so it would fit snuggly into the candlestick.
I could've used hot glue etc, but I chose to use a rubber band.
Here is how it looks at night.
For this one I tried out a glass globe.
I took the very top portion off of the light and used some hot glue to attach it to the bottom of the globe then simply turned it upside down.
If the hot glue doesn't hold up in the outdoor heat, could easily use something like e6000 but I chose to just go with hot glue.
Here is how it looks at night.
For a tall solar light. I used a wood dowel rod and spray painted it silver to match the light. Then removed the bottom stake portion and slid the light over the dowel rod.
These are a fun one, because you can cut the dowel to whatever size you want and layer them etc. (shown in video)
Here is how it looks at night.
I thought this glass star would be a fun one for the upcoming 4th of July holiday so I took the top off of a light and hot glued it to the bottom and also turned this one upside down.
I also picked up some of these textured jars.
I just removed the lid and the top of the solar light fit perfectly!
It is gorgeous at night.. such a fun pattern!
So I made another one and turned it into a hanging lantern by adding some wire to the top of the jar.. I think this one has to be my favorite!
I definitely need to go pick up more of these jars!
So fun and the cost was right at $2.00 for this hanging lantern as we had the wire on hand.. Gotta love that!

I put 2 in candlestick holders in my Florida room. Tonight when the blinds are closed I expect a bit of ambient lighting! Thank you!
