How can I keep my pool thermometer from going into the skimmer?
The thermometer comes with a leash that can be attached to the side of the pool. I don't have any place that it can tie to. It keeps getting sucked into the skimmer.

Get creative: tie it to chair leg, a garden sculpture, an inflatable toy, or the pool ladder.
Hi Rachelmimi,
I don't know what kind of pool you have but was thinking that you could tie a weight to the end of the thermometer leash and drop it over the side of the pool. (for an above ground pool). You might have to add length to the leash with rope so that it goes down to the ground and doesn't pull the thermometer out of the pool. If it's an inground pool, you could do something similar by adding something heavy to your poolside decor. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best.
Hi Rachel,
Can you tie it to a float tube?
Use a command strip to anchor it. If it has the metal hook, maybe you can tie it to the hook. Otherwise they have larger rounded holders where you could tie off to the thinnest part. https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/products/~/Command-Outdoor-Stainless-Steel-Wire-Hooks/?N=5924736+3292126704+3294529207&preselect=8719410+3293786499&rt=rud
Tie it to something that can float? Keep it in a safe place near by the pool, maybe on a fence?
Hello Rachelmimi, how about getting a float toy or piece of pool noodle to tie it to, this will let it float and it won't get sucked into the skimmer
Set it in a Ball or other item that will float and won't go in!
Hook the end of the leash to a garden hose or outside faucet...or use the garden hose as a connector of sorts to something else in your yard.....even a big rock or a bin from your garage to weight it down.
Hi Rachel: Well, you might be able to tie the leash to something heavy and put that on the side of the pool. Maybe a heavy plant or even a small stone statue?
Hinged Trellis fixed to wall that could be moved when required!
I wonder if a command hook would work?
I'd find something to tie it to, setting something near the edge of the pool so long as it's not a tripping hazard. If that's not an option, I'd look for something that will either float and is larger to prevent the thermometer from getting in there or attach a longer string and something that will weigh it down.
Hi Rachelmimi: You can attach it to the side with waterproof glue, or glue it to a pool noodle.
Command hooks make a wtaer proof hook that can be attached to the side of the pool.
