Circa 70's Pine Dining Room Hutch Gets a New Lease on Life

In my kitchen I had so many small appliances they were stored everywhere and anywhere they fit. I wanted to have them all in one place. I had a pantry that seemed the logical solution. I then had to re-home the pantry items. I decided I could use the cabinets I store my dishes and glassware in if I could find just the right hutch. I had a specific style in mind.
After searching a site called 'Offer Up' I found just what I wanted. She was outdated and not complimentary to the kitchen cabinets at all. I decides to try my hand at painting with chalk paint. The photo shows how I found her listed for sale.
This is the same cabinet after painting, waxing, and new or painted hardware. She is such a looker now and I love how she turned out. Even my husband likes it.
Here is the base after painting with a 50/50 mix of Annie Sloan's Antibes Green and Florence colors. Comes out to an emerald tone.
I had originally planned to midge lodge old recipes to the back wall of the hutch and the top of the chest. But after painting the inside of the hutch with A.S.'s cream color plans changed. My husband and I loved how she looked so I left the inside like this. I then painted the outside my green color.
She came with old brass hardware which did not match the brushed nickel on my kitchen cabinets so I changed out the hardware choosing glass knobs for the middle drawers and brushed nickel for the bottom ones. I could not find new door pulls or hinges so my husband sprayed them with brushed nickel paint.
And again here is a finished picture.

Beautiful job!! How did you remove the metal grids on the glass doors? I have a similar hutch with my buffet that I’m planning to update. Thank you 😊
