How can I grow vegetables in a plastic wheelbarrow?
I have a plastic beat up wheelbarrow, it leaks from the container where it is screwed to the frame and the wheel is beyond repair. Any suggestions for growing vegetables in it? The depth is fairly shallow, about 6-8" at the most, tapering to a few inches near the handles. We live in zone 6, Maryland.

Even shallow root vegetables need at least 12" of soil. An herb garden may work though!
Some herbs would work! Succulents would do well too. And there are always flowers that will look beautiful as well, something that trails over the edge.

Hello again,
Where to put it? Parked up under a tree - on entrance to a part of the garden - somewhere you might find a wheelbarrow dumped - anywhere it looks good. As a welcome to your garden? Enjoy!
Drill a few holes in the wheel barrow for drainage and fill it with potting soil. Plant your plants. Ours looked beautiful :)
Hi and thanks for your response. just looking at the wheelbarrow today, the 4 points where the top is connected to the bottom are fractured at the plastic will drain well. It is funny, there are already ants dwelling there in the dirt left over from last fall!
I would line the wheelbarrow with something so it doesn’t rust.then paint the out side to make it cute and just plant you said it had holes so it should drain good your all set
