Update Your Ugly Tile With PAINT!

I’ve never liked my kitchen tile but removing and replacing would be a pretty big project. Paint makes a huge impact everywhere else so why not on my floors?? I’m no stranger to painted tile but I decided to use a new product! Will it withstand the heavy use in a kitchen?? Here's how to paint tile.
Best floor tile paint!
I’m testing out the Rustoleum Floor Coating Kit. This 3 step system is specifically meant for this kind of project and is usable on a variety of floor types. I bought 3 to cover my kitchen but I only ended up needing 2. I’m using the color “Smoke”.

First... CLEAN those floors. Dirt and grime will prevent the product from adhering to your floors. I scrubbed mine on my hands and knees and then mopped for good measure. The Rustoleum kit comes with a great cleaner!
We’ll call this the “before” photo!
Next, apply the base coat. This product provides 1 coat coverage and I was skeptical but impressed! It really did only take one coat and applied beautifully. I rolled the tile but used a brush to cut in around my cabinets and baseboards. This coat dries in about 6 hours.
The hardest part of this whole project was keeping kids and pets out!
After 6 hours you can apply the clear top coat and allow 24 hours of dry time. I chose the matte finish.
It turned out beautiful and feels like I have all new flooring!!
**3 month update:
This product has held up wonderfully! We are pretty rough on our floors and I dont have a single chip or scratch except from when I moved my fridge back! It has withstood dragging chairs, doggy nails, kids, spills, mopping, you name it! I’m very impressed!
