How to Make Gorgeous Toilet Paper Roll Covers That Boost Your Bathroom

I have some very pretty hand towels and kitchen towels that I have absolutely no intention of letting anyone actually use. You know the ones. Too nice to wipe toothpaste with, too cute to leave out, so they just end up folded in a drawer where no one sees them.
Well, enough of that. If no one’s allowed to touch them, I might as well put them to work… in a way that actually makes my bathroom look amazing.
This little trick takes just a few minutes, it’s reusable and washable, and best of all, you finally get to show off those towels instead of hiding them away.
Tools and Materials:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Gorgeous hand towels
- Optional: Decorative brooch or stylish hair clip to secure the towel

DIY Steps: Creating Your Gorgeous Toilet Paper Roll Covers
1. Choose Your Fabric
Grab those pretty towels, fabric scraps, old curtains, tablecloths, or sheets, whatever you’ve been holding onto because they’re too lovely to toss but not exactly doing their original job anymore.
Soft pastels, bold prints, florals—go with whatever makes you smile.
Mine? A set of kitchen towels I picked up on an overseas trip and never let anyone touch.
I had to trim my towels down a bit. No stress, though, if it didn’t work out, I had a whole other pack waiting for round two.
2. Wrap and Tuck
Lay your hand towel flat and place the toilet paper roll in the center, with the hole running horizontally.
Wrap the towel snugly around the roll, then tuck the loose ends into the center tube on both sides.
If your fabric is on the longer side (like mine was), here’s a little trick: after wrapping the roll, pull the bottom edge of the towel up through the tube and out the top.
Then, tuck the top edges of the towel neatly around this center “stem” of fabric for a tidy, secure finish.
I also gave the cut ends of my towel a quick fray to get that soft, worn-in, shabby chic vibe. Totally optional, but a nice touch if that’s your style.
3. Optional Decorative Securing
Want to add an extra chic touch? Secure your wrap with something pretty yet practical like a vintage brooch or even a cute hair clip.
Styling Tips and Placement Ideas
- Arrange several wrapped rolls neatly in a basket or on a floating shelf.
- Stack them vertically next to the toilet for a boutique hotel feel.
- Pair them with coordinating bathroom accessories for a cohesive look.
Bonus: Eco-Friendly Bathroom Upgrade!
This DIY isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s also a clever way to reuse towels sustainably. Simply unwrap, wash if needed, and reuse again and again. No waste!

Turn Toilet Paper Into a Rose in 5 Minutes — A Cute Bathroom Touch!
I’ve got to say, for something so simple, this little project brought me a lot of joy. My bathroom instantly looked more put together, I gave my favorite towels the display they deserve, and now I don’t cringe when someone walks in and sees a rogue TP roll on the tank.
If you're sitting on a drawer full of towels that are “too nice to actually use,” this is their moment. Go wrap a few rolls, tuck them into a basket, clip on something cute if you’re feeling extra, and admire your bathroom’s new boutique vibe.
And hey, if you try it, please tell me what towel you used and if you added anything fun to yours! I’m always looking for more ideas (especially if it involves reusing things that are already lurking in a cabinet somewhere).
Now, get wrapping and decorating! Your bathroom will thank you.

I have made several these decorative toilet rolls with a swatch of quilting material (just the right size) from Walmart. I started with an orange piece for a 🎃 pumpkin. Then used 3 cinnamon sticks (which I taped together) and added a couple of spare leaves from my floral. It's easy and really cute!
I have also made them for Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day! Using a gather of ribbon for each and tucked inside of roll. I like using wire ribbon because you can adjust the ribbon. Just recently, made one for spring in pretty pastel flowers!
