Terra-cotta Pot Centerpiece
I know I promised the fire place mantel next, but do to every thing that’s been going on, wood supply is on back order.
So instead I’m taking this opportunity to make this terra-cotta centerpiece that I’ve been putting off. It came out beautiful, and I will definitely be adding more pots to my table.
Moss
Mod Podge
Paint, in a cream color (from a paint sample from Lowe’s. Acrylic paint works as well.)

Small paint brush (for glue)
paper towels
Greenery
These I got on sale at Joanne Fabrics. They are still having there 70% of sale as of 5/26/20
You will want to take your paper towel and dip it into the paint.
Less is more. You don’t want to soak it.
Dab the paint throughout the towel. This step is important and I will show you the difference in a second if you skip this step.
Rub the towel around the pot to get your desired aging color.
Don’t forget to do the inside.
I decided to do the inside of one of the pots with out dabbing the towel after dipping it into the paint. You can see the paint will go on much much thicker if you don’t dab the paint throughout the towel.
I made two different levels of paint on the pots so you can see what you like better. The lighter one only has one coat of paint. The fuller painted one, has two coats.
Now it’s time to start applying the moss.
Start by painting a section (1/4th of the pot) with the Mod Podge Glue.
Roll the side of the glued pot into the moss.
It will not be completely covered in moss the first time, but that’s ok.
Apply more glue to the spots that are missing moss.
Apply the moss by hand. Apply a few seconds of pressure and hold it there.
I also added some on the inside, opposite of where I did the outside.
For the second one I rolled the entire pot in the moss. I did not reapply glue and moss after this step. I wanted this on lighter of the moss side.
These went on my dinning room table. I added the greenery and a $5 plant I found at target.
