Dutch Windmill Craft for Kids

by Phyllis
Doing a unit or study of countries around the world? This cute little windmill is perfect to use as a craft. Teach what a windmill was once used for in Holland so kids have some idea of its history.
This craft is made from an 18 oz Solo cup. It is decorated with construction paper and sticker flowers.
A simple windmill is made from regular copy paper. Fold the 4 1/4 inch square from corner to corner. Complete instructions are found on the website.
After making the pinwheel, stick a pin through the middle and add it to the top of the windmill. For very young children, use a brad. This will allow the pinwiheel to turn.
Bend the pin down to a 90 degree angle and tape it to the inside.

Definitely adding this one with a map showing them where we were then (at the beach) and then another line from their home to the Netherlands. On the hunt now for some age appropriate (4 yr old twins) books.
