'Home for the Holidays' Photo Christmas Ornament
Going home for the holidays is as easy as making this charming and sweetly sentimental ornament with a photo of your very own childhood home inside! Make them for family and friends who enjoy remembering the good old days of home sweet home!
I made this one for our kiddos as a keepsake. One day, when they are all grown, they will be able to share this snowy ornament with their families.
Using imitation snow, a plastic craft ornament, a photo copied image of our home and a little glitter...in no time I was able to create a treasured memory.
Cover one side- which will become the back of the ornament with a coating of glue and craft paint.
Sprinkle with glitter and let dry.
Cut out a photo copied image of your home to the size of the ornament. I used a pencil to outline the shape.
Once the image is cut, gently roll the paper and slide it into the ornament.
The eraser side of a pencil can help to smooth out the image.
Add a small amount of imitation snow...
This is my childhood home...I made one for myself too!
Add a ribbon and your snowy....sentimental walk down memory lane is complete! For more details on this project, including where I sourced my supplies, please visit: http://blueribbonkitchen.blogspot.com/2015/12/home-for-holidays-christmas-ornament.html

I did something similar a couple years ago with one of my daughters wedding photos. I cut them out leaving them ever so slightly taller than the ornament so they would stay in place. I then printed off a pic of some trees and cut those out a little smaller so they looked 3D

Have a question about this project?
Would metallic glitter paint work just as well for the back of the ornament without the actual glitter? Or do you think I could put the glitter on the inside just on the back piece?
What a fantastic idea!!! ❤️ Wish I saw this sooner. Gift giving is right around the corner. I have used the Library printer before. They took a picture right from my phone. Sized it etc. The color? 👍 Just not of my Son's new home 😢 There's always next year 😉 Thanks 🙋♀️❤️🙂
How do you get the snow in the bulb? Also how do you keep the snow in place when taking it down for the following year ?
