How to Create an Affordable and Charming Pilgrim Hat Craft
In this DIY Thanksgiving decoration project, I'll show you how to make an adorable pilgrim hat craft that cost me only $3.
This Thanksgiving centerpiece will add a delightful touch to your holiday gathering, and you'll be amazed at how easy it is to create.

Tools and Materials:
- Ice bucket
- Charger plate
- Rustoleum black spray paint
- Fresh fallen leaves
- Mini pumpkin
- Pinecone
- White table runner (Dollar Tree)
- Lighter
- Hot glue gun
- Gold glittery ribbon
1. Spray Paint the Base
I started with an ice bucket and charger from Dollar Tree.
I took them outside and spray painted them with Rustoleum black spray paint.
2. Gather Natural Decor
While the paint was drying I picked up some fresh fallen leaves, a mini pumpkin from my garden, and a pinecone.
3. Prepare the Fabric Strip
I purchased a white table runner from Dollar Tree. I cut a small strip from the runner to make a ribbon for the base of my pilgrim hat.
I knew the fabric would fray so I used a lighter and scored the edges.
4. Decorate the Pilgrim Hat
Once the ice bucket and charger plate were dry, I brought them back inside.
I hot-glued the strip of fabric around the top of the ice bucket.
I had some gold glittery ribbon, and I cut 4 strips of it and glued them onto the white band to create the buckle of the hat.
5. Assemble the Pilgrim Hat
Now it was time to assemble the hat and create the centerpiece.
I started by putting the ice bucket upside down on the charger plate.
I added the items I had collected outside on the hat.
The hat was ready to be placed on my dining room table.
