1. Prepare the Plates
Take two paper plates.
Hot glue them together, one on top of the other.
Use a compass and pencil to draw a circle about two inches from the edge of the plate.
2. Cut the Strips
Use a ruler to divide the circle into equal sections like a pie chart.
Cut along each line from the plate’s edge to the circle’s edge.
These strips will form the basket’s frame.
3. Create the Base
Use the compass and pencil to draw two circles on the foam core.
Hot glue one foam core circle to the center of the plate's bottom and the other to the top.
4. Weave the Cord
Take twine or thin macrame cord and begin weaving in and out of the paper plate strips.
Bend the strips upward into a rounded basket shape as you weave.
Secure the strips together at the lip of the plate using hot glue.
Hold them in place with clips until dry.
5. Add Rope for Stability
Flip the plate over and hot glue thick jute rope to the bottom edge, covering the exposed paper plate lip.
Build the height of the basket by layering the rope upward, gluing each layer securely.
6. Cover the Foam Core
Starting at the center of the foam core base, glue macrame cord in a circular pattern until the foam core is covered.
Repeat this step for the bottom of the basket.
7. Create the Handle
Arrange two floral stems in an X shape and secure them with floral wire. Repeat with the other two stems.
Slide wood beads onto the stems and secure them with hot glue.
Twist the stems together, arching them to form a basket handle.
Wrap the handle in macrame cord, gluing it to cover the floral stems.
8. Add the Ribbon
Cut the wire-edged ribbon in half lengthwise and fold it into a decorative pattern.
Glue the ribbon around the basket’s lip to add a festive touch.
Make your Easter unforgettable!
