Crow's Nest Halloween Wreath

Halloween is my most favorite holiday so I always go all out with the decorations. Every year I try to come up with some new Halloween items to mix in with the old, and I always seem to have more project ideas than time. So the easier the project is, the more likely it is to get done...which is why this DIY Halloween wreath made the list.

A few supplies from the craft store and a twinkle light string are all you need to get started.

To start, spray paint the twig wreath with black paint. I used chalk board paint because that's what I had on hand, but any kind of matte black spray paint would work.

Wrap the twinkle light string around the wreath. Start with the battery pack behind the wreath at the bottom so it will be covered by the moss and not visible.

Then spread some Spanish moss around the bottom of the wreath. You can put a few dabs of hot glue on the wreath to hold the moss on if you want (although it sticks on pretty well by itself).

Then attach the crow on top of the moss. If your crow has wires attached to its feet, wrap them around a few twigs on the wreath to keep it in place. Or you can either use the glue gun again to keep the bird in place.

It's a very simple Halloween decoration that looks good on the door but would also work over a mantel or in a Halloween gallery wall.

I hung mine on the front door. With the lights on at night, it definitely adds to the spooky Halloween vibe I'm going for!
