DIY Orange Peel Candle
Got a romantic date and forgot to pick up candles? There's a total power outage on your street and you used the last candle to make wax fingers? Well here's a solution, make CANDLES OUT OF ORANGE PEELS! That's right! Just a few household items and you'll be enlightened in no time.
We've seen this Pin around for a while and finally decided to try it.
The first step was to buy some ORANGES. We had the OLIVE OIL and MATCHES on hand so we're off to an easy start.
The next step is to grab a PARING KNIFE and slice through the PEEL of the orange, just the peel, all the way around.
After cutting through the peel slowly pull the orange apart leaving TWO EQUAL HALVES. Watch out for flying pulp.
Now scoop out the pulp of the fruit leaving only the WHITE CENTER STEM. This is what we'll be using as the WICK.
Once the pulp is removed we have the stem or "wick" which we'll be lighting.
Next, fill up the orange half with OIL, we used olive oil but you should be able to use most any oil.
Now carefully use a match or lighter to light the stem or "wick."
And voila, you have an ALL NATURAL GREEN CANDLE that only cost you an orange and some oil. PINTRUSTED!

I tried this and set it on my kitchen counter. I forgot about it. I had a burn mark on my counter. Be sure you put it on something that can't be damaged by heat.
