    I don't know about this trick (I "might" try it), but I will add that sanitary pads can also be used as dressings for large wounds + medical tape to hold it on.

    After using 3 minutes of my life...I realized "this" is JUST a NOVELTY thing, someone "SOMEWHERE" thought...I'LL SHOW L.B.W. something (dumb) that...WILL work...JUST LIKE a 'Q Tip, FOLDED RAG, PAPER TOWEL..."KLEENEX". It's just someone that tried something different, that's ALL. 🙂
