Is the brick sealed?
I would damp mop the floors with a little liquid cleaner (not soap). You do not want to use something that leaves a film. I like Murphy Oil Soap. It is great on wood and can be used on non-wood surfaces like ceramic tiles, no wax floors, painted surfaces without leaving a residue.
Murphys oil soap is like magic!
