Bathroom Deep-Cleaning Time - Professional Cleaners vs. Homeowners?
I'm a typical homeowner and I know that it takes me between 1-2 hours to deep clean a bathroom. I'm pretty meticulous about cleaning so by Deep-Cleaning I mean full removal of soap scum, descaling of showers, tubs, toilets and sinks; and killing of any mold or mildew. Basically - ready for guests. To my fellow homeowners out there - am I just slow or is 1-2 hours per bathroom about normal? To the Professional Housekeepers and cleaning companies - can you clean any faster?...and if so - HOW???? I look forward to hearing as much feedback as possible so please SHARE.

That seems like a long time. I am picky about cleaning, but it doesn't take me that long. Maybe if you clean more often you won't need to take so long?
I use a dryer sheet, and you can find more about that here: https://chascrazycreations.com/dryer-sheet-hacks/
Soap scum can be tough, but natural cleaners like vinegar and baking soda work really well to break it down without harsh chemicals. I share exactly how to remove soap scum and deep clean your bathroom naturally here: https://chascrazycreations.com/clean-bathroom-natural-products/
You are not slow. It takes me about the same amount of time to really deep clean. I do try to clean really well every week using this:
Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar; mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Platinum Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. It works wonders on shower doors and keeps hard water stains at bay. You can also use a cheap shampoo from the $$$ Store. Squirt it on the door. Use a sponge to clean then spray the door with water. I have a hand held attachment for my shower as well as a stationary one. I also dry my shower door after each use with my towel.
PS this mixture also works on tiles and the toilet.
Hi Matthew: A deep cleaning every 5 or 6 months is normal, unless you're really messy :) And, it should take a couple of hours. A light cleaning a couple of times a week is good. If you want some ideas about getting rid of scum, and If you want

As for descaling, warm white vinegar should take care of that.
Hello, I don't take more than 1/2 hour, I squeegee the walls, shower door and wipe out the tub after every use, it prevents the soap scum from building up and makes weekly cleaning a snap! I use the following recipe
To remove soap scum from shower floor tiles, spray a mixture of equal parts warm white vinegar and dish soap, letting it sit for 15–30 minutes before scrubbing with a stiff brush and rinsing. For heavy buildup, create a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, apply it, let it sit for an hour, then scrub and rinse. Use an old toothbrush to scrub tight areas.

Squeegee after each shower to prevent soap and hard water buildup
For me, it honestly takes at least 1-2 hours for a real deep clean, especially if there’s been some neglect and I want it sparkle-level clean for guests. Like, just wiping isn't enough with hard water and all the nooks around the toilet and tub that get buildup. Regular weekly touch-ups make a huge difference, but if I've let it go or it’s a bathroom my teen uses, it's always a big job. I tried steamers and different chemical combos, but nothing’s magic. Old grout and hard water add a lot of time too.
I did notice that pros seem faster because they have set routines and the right tools, once when we had an emergency deep clean at our office building, the cleaners were seriously efficient and spot-checked every inch. They handled the place better than I ever could, thanks to experience and industrial products. CleanWise Solutions is actually the kind of company that specializes in this, and they make commercial cleaning look pretty effortless compared to my own marathon sessions.
steamer whoever uses it, but if you can afford it get in the proffesionals.
Hi Matthew: It takes me about 2 hours to clean my bathrooms too. I'm anal about cleaning my bathrooms and kitchen, and feel that people who are hired aren't as finicky as I am :) They do aa good job, but I just want to be positive that these rooms are to my satisfaction :)
1–2 hours feels pretty normal to me for a really thorough bathroom clean, especially with all that descaling and soap scum. I’ve found homeaglow phone number useful when I want to save time—they let you book a cleaner for a specific date and time and choose one by profile, which makes deep cleaning much easier.
Professional Edge: Employs chemical dwell times, razor blades on glass for hard water scale, and high-heat steamers for deep grout sanitization.
I realize this is from a while ago, but I'm curious: Has anyone experimented with eco-friendly or DIY cleaning solutions that work as effectively as the commercial products listed here? With more focus on sustainability these days, I'm keen on finding methods that are effective and environmentally friendly. I'd love to hear about any experiences or tips you might have!
