Recycled Oregon Timber Dining Table
This project took place a few years ago... in the early stages of my DIYing :) It was my first attempt at building a Dining table from scratch. It was a very fulfilling project and I learned a great deal from it. The idea behind it was that
Salvaged Oregon floor joists.
De-nailed and remove any hardware.
Cut to approximate length.
Initial sand and clean joining edges of timber. Then glue and clamp.
Mark out and cut rebate for frame and legs.
Rebate complete.
Frame fitted and glued into rebate.
Housing for leg to slot into and get bolted into place.
Snug fit :)
Repeat process for all legs.
In this case I chose to employ the use of a timber stain.
Apply stain to legs.
Bolts legs into place.
Legs can be detached for easy transport.
Now its Dinner Time! :)

Gorgeous. Great job. Thank you for sharing I myself would have painted the legs white or dark blue. Hiw ever stain is very easy to clean. What do you use one your table to clean it? Murphys soap oil, or just soap and water? Do you use old English, pledge for weekly clean? Just curious on what you use?
can I paint over glossy finish dining room furniture or do I sand it off first?
