Let's dive in, unleash your inner designer and take your patio to the next level.
Tools and Materials:
- Ten floral foam rings
- Pizza pan
- Gorilla construction adhesive
- Spray paint (appliance Epoxy, modern mint, stone texture)
- Mod Podge
- Loose gravel or dirt
- Foam brush or paintbrush
1. Building the Base of the DIY side table
Take one of the rings and apply Gorilla construction adhesive, spreading it evenly around the ring.
Align the edges of another ring with the first one and place it on top, ensuring it is centered. Continue this process, stacking all the rings together with adhesive in between.
Once all the rings are stacked, use a foam brush or paintbrush to smooth out any excess adhesive that has oozed out between the rings.
2. Adding Texture and Color
Take the pizza pan and choose your desired spray paint. If available, appliance epoxy works well. Spray the pizza pan and allow it to dry.
For the faux stone texture technique, all you need to do is spray Mod Podge onto the foam rings and roll them in loose dirt.
This technique provides a cost-effective alternative to expensive stone spray paint available in the craft aisle.
After achieving the desired texture, apply a couple of coats of spray paint. I chose to use the color Modern Mint from Rust-Oleum.
Work in sections to allow drying time between coats, as the gravel may absorb some of the paint.
3. Final Touches and Assembly
Once the paint has fully dried, use construction adhesive to attach the painted pizza pan to the top of the stacked rings. Ensure it is centered and secure.
Allow the adhesive to set and dry overnight for a strong bond.
