Farmhouse Bedroom Set: How to Make a DIY Farmhouse Bed
We are digging this new farmhouse bedroom set! We made a beautiful DIY farmhouse bed and matching side tables. Happy us and happy customer. Here's how it came to be.
1. Cut the headboard pieces
In the video below, you can see me cutting the headboard pieces to size.
2. Prep the trim
After the pieces are all cut to size, you need to prep the trim over the top of the headboard, and the bottom, back, and front to hold them in place.
3. Assemble the headboard
This is how you should assemble the headboard.
The next step is to add the 4x4 posts and the top header pieces.
Repeating the same steps produces the headboard.
4. Make the side rails & slats
Lastly, you have to make the side rails and slats!
5. Assemble the bed

6. Stain
We stained the bed with Minwax dark walnut stain and sealed it with clear satin Minwax sealant. (Both can be found on Amazon.)
I love the rich stain and it looks awesome! We then brought it to our happy customer's home and here's how it looks in it's new home.

Is there anymore plans to this man? Would love to try to build this exact bed or something just like it for my gfs birthday man?!

Have a question about this project?
Can you put a material list up for this bed?
What size is the bed? Queen?
Nice work. Why does stain look blotchy and uneven? I’d paint before that sloppy looking finish
